PHPCipher is a relatively new company that appeared roughly 2 years ago. They have a free PHP encoder for non-commercial use but the features of that version are pretty limited. Upgrading to the commercial version will give you full access to their client managment and licensing system.
The encoder is hosted online and you will need to be connected to the internet in order to use it. Although this could be troublesome for those still on dial-up, the advantages of having an encoder that is accessible from anywhere more then makes up for it. Scripts encoded by PHPCipher do not require any additional loaders which means higher compatibility and less hassle.
In addition to the encoder, PHPCipher also comes with a whole bunch of extras such as HTML output obfuscation, source signature, and lifetime updates. However, it is one of the expensive encoders on the market.
