I paid about $115 for this software. There's a file titled "INSTALL," which basically tells you to install the files anywhere and access the directory with a web browser. When I did that, I got an error message. Right, I couldn't even get to the installer. Finally, I had the developer of this PHP software fix the .htaccess file. All right. Then I needed to install another .htaccess file to protect a specific directory and monitor traffic. I just did it according to the instructions. I got the same error message. Gosh... I went to the software developer for help. Well, I complained a little. He said that my knowledge over Apache is poor. Then he goes, "you did not buy the custom installation" Huh!? Anyway, I had it installed. Okay. It took me 4 to 5 days to finally get the script to run. But I was amazed to see how poor this software is. It has no function of remembering your username/password. I kindly asked the software developer by e-mail to install basic features like that. Then he goes "Custom modifications is €75,- per hour."
Making installation as difficult as possible and then charge a customized installation fee is unethical. It's not just the matter of not being able to run the script. I didn't even to the installer. This software comes with no user's manual, by the way.
